Cleanzone 2024: Into the future with cleanrooms

26 Sep 2024

The future is only possible with cleanrooms – this is the key conclusion of Cleanzone, which took place in Frankfurt am Main on 25 and 26 September 2024. Two days packed with presentations, discussions, exciting innovations and intensive knowledge transfer once again demonstrated that cleanrooms help save lives, ensure the food supply of tomorrow and provide energy – and they create the basis for advanced research. Cleanroom technology is used in medical technology, pharmaceuticals, food technology and battery production, among other things.

The focus of Cleanzone 2024 was on professional dialogue. The international trade fair for cleanroom and cleanliness technology, hygiene and contamination control was characterised by a high degree of innovation on the part of the exhibiting companies and a first-class supporting programme.

“Cleanrooms will become increasingly important in the coming years. They are needed in almost every conceivable industry, a fact that has been demonstrated by the participants at this year's Cleanzone,”, summarises Wolfgang Marzin, President and CEO of Messe Frankfurt. “Discussions were held, expertise was shared and we saw some excellent presentations and innovations. This industry is truly impressive.”

The exhibiting companies showcased products and solutions in the fields of cleanroom design, technology and equipment, textiles, hygiene, consumables and training. A total of 77 exhibitors from 16 countries presented their innovations, including seven start-ups.

At around 40 conference and exhibitor presentations, as well as masterclasses, experts shared their specialised knowledge on topics such as contamination control, cleaning, standards, energy management, robotics and project management.

At each Cleanzone, innovative solutions for cleanrooms are honoured with the Cleanzone Award. This year, the award, which is endowed with 3,000 euros and presented in partnership with the publishing house Wiley, was given to the ReBa² test method for cleanroom garments by Dastex and DITF (German Institutes for Textile and Fibre Research Denkendorf). 14 companies had previously submitted their innovations, and six of them were nominated for the award. The winner was chosen by the trade fair participants.

A total of 1,400 participants from 41 countries (2022: 1,500 participants from 38 countries) attended the event.
