Accessibility for individual needs
Accessibility means responding to different needs.
Below you will find information about services and support for various requirements during your visit to the fair.
Visitors with a disability pass
Visiting the trade fair with an accompanying person
If you are a disabled visitor with an accompanying person, he or she is entitled to free admission to Messe Frankfurt events. This is on condition that:
- You have purchased a ticket at the relevant admission price
- You have a B-type disability pass and/or depend on an accompanying person
This is valid for one accompanying person only and in connection with your admission ticket.
For guest events (such as concerts in the Festhalle), the regulations of the organiser in question will apply. In this case, please contact the organiser of this event directly.
Sanitation facilities for the disabled
All of the sanitation facilities for the disabled on the exhibition grounds have been equipped with European disabled toilet locks.
If you do not have a European disabled toilet key, our hall personnel will be happy to unlock the WC for you.
Interested in obtaining a European disabled toilet key?
If you are entitled to a European disabled toilet key and would like to obtain one, there are two ways you can do so:
1. During larger trade fair events, you can purchase this key for €25 from Messe Frankfurt’s Business Center (Torhaus, Level 3, Tel. +49 69 7575-1391). This key is available on presentation of one of the following types of disability pass:
- aG (Exceptionally mobility impaired, wheelchair user)
- G (70% impaired mobility and upwards)
- B (Severely disabled requiring accompaniment)
- H (Severely disabled requiring assistance)
- BL (Blind people)
- 90 or 100%.
People suffering from Multiple Sclerosis, Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis will also receive a key on presentation of a medical certificate.
2. During times when trade fairs are not taking place, you can obtain these keys in Germany and abroad from the disabled association “Club Behinderter und ihrer Freunde” (CBF). This organisation will be happy to answer any questions you might have about obtaining toilet keys (Tel. +49 61 51 81 220, e-mail: info@cbf-darmstadt.de).
Visitors with limited mobility
Parking
The Rebstock multi-storey car park offers parking facilities for many trade fairs. Elevators on all levels will take you to Level 0, where there is a shuttle bus service to the exhibition grounds. Please note that the shuttle bus is not suitable for wheelchair users.
Our information hotline can provide details about parking options for visitors with and without restricted mobility who do not have an “aG” disability pass for severely impaired mobility. The information hotline also provides information about special permits that are issued owing to specific conditions or on presentation of appropriate proof.
We also recommend that you contact our information hotline in advance if you are travelling by taxi. This way, you can be informed of the appropriate entrance gate and the distances on the exhibition grounds are reduced.
Accessible routes on the exhibition grounds
The Via Mobile is a covered walkway connecting the exhibition halls. It is partially equipped with moving walkways and enables step-free and comfortable movement across the entire venue.
Please be aware that the opening hours of gates and public entrances vary depending on the different events. More information can be found on the corresponding event website.
Wheelchairs and scooters
During trade fairs, you can borrow wheelchairs and mobility scooters from us for a €50 deposit. They are available from the first aid station at the Operation & Security Center (OSC, Hall 4) and the first aid station in Hall 8.0.
Please note that only a limited number of wheelchairs and mobility scooters are available and that loans are therefore subject to current availability.

Visitors with visual impairments
Information about the exhibition grounds
There are currently no special technical wayfinding aids available on the exhibition grounds for blind and visually impaired visitors.
However, you can request a personal assistance service for your visit to the trade fair. A member of staff will help you find your way around the exhibition grounds and, if required, accompany you to the exhibition stands you wish to visit.
Before your visit, please contact our information hotline to check availability and obtain further details about the assistance service. Our team will be happy to advise you and help you plan your visit.
Information about Kap Europa
At our congress centre Kap Europa, located near the exhibition grounds, a range of wayfinding aids is available for blind and visually impaired visitors.
The passenger lifts are equipped with:
- buttons with Braille
- raised arrow buttons that allow passengers to identify the direction of travel by touch
- audible announcements when the doors open and close and when each floor is reached
In addition, the toilet facilities are equipped with tactile orientation panels. These provide a tactile representation of the layout of the respective toilet facilities and indicate, among other things, where the individual fixtures are located within the room. A QR code on the panel also provides access to the information as an audio description.
Visitors with hearing impairments
There are currently no (technical) support services available on the exhibition grounds for visitors with hearing impairments.

Neurodivergent visitors
For visitors who need a break from the hustle and bustle of the trade fair, quiet rooms are available on the exhibition grounds.
The quiet rooms are located by the first aid stations at the Operation & Security Center (OSC) in Hall 4.0 and in the north-west foyer of Hall 8.0. They offer you the opportunity to step away from the trade fair environment and take a break in quieter surroundings.
Please note: Depending on the event, at least one of the two quiet rooms will be open. Our information hotline will be happy to let you know which quiet room is available during your visit.
Breastfeeding and nappy-changing facilities
Private areas for breastfeeding or taking a relaxing break with babies or small children can be found at the first aid stations.
- Nappy-changing facilities can be found in the following areas:
- Torhaus, Level 3, ladies’ toilets / men’s toilets
- Torhaus, Level 2, ladies’ toilets / men’s toilets (near Fontana restaurant)
- CMF, disabled toilets
- Hall 3.1 South, Room/Hall 10
- Hall 4.2 South, ladies’ toilets
- Hall 8.0, disabled toilets
- Hall 11.1 North, ladies’ toilets
